Why full body massages just don’t cut it.
You might wonder why some massages are better than others and one of the easiest ways you can tell them apart is by what areas your massage therapist works on.
Many bodywork enthusiasts enjoy a good full body massage but in reality, it just comes down to the old tug of war between quality and quantity.
Personally, I find that the quality of a massage and the results you can expect go down drastically when you include more & more in each session. There’s only so much time to work with in a given session & by spreading it very thin over multiple areas within the body…it just doesn’t quite cut it. Some therapists swear by going for as many muscles as possible & listening to their clients when they say “Do everywhere” but it will never be as efficient as working down the chain of what needs to be PRIORITIZED.
If you just want to relax and genuinely don’t care, then by all means a full body massage will be the right call to make for yourself, but if you have a level of pain or tension that you find uncomfortable then you would ideally leave it up to your good ole massage therapist to figure out what needs work first. Sometimes you get referred pain or contrasted tension which takes treating a different are or opposite side to be really released fully.
If you’ve never had a Remedial Massage I would highly encourage you to get one as it differs greatly in both results & relief compared to run of the mill full body massages. There’s plenty of places in Perth that do either but if you’re after a specialist in dealing with pain & tension, i’m your guy. You won’t get rid of those stress & tension headaches by getting your legs worked on unfortunately. If only right.
Relaxation or full body massages do have a time & place but the overwhelming majority of us have tension & pain especially around the hip, shoulders & back that just needs to be looked at fully & released thoroughly.
You owe it to yourself to book in for a session!
See you there.
